A Day out with Thomas and Cali's birthday!

I finally got the pictures from our Day out with Thomas on May 2nd. It was held at Heritage Park in Calgary. We all had a great time that day. The weather was perfect and everything that day was dedicated to Thomas. A week later it was Cali's birthday. We spent the afternoon with her friend Mayah who is just a day younger. Mayah's mom, Joyce and I met at the local mother's group in town. It was so nice to have a friend with a baby the same age. The past two years have just flown by, Joyce and I had our doubts about making it through the first year. Here we are two years later... seasoned mothers!

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers and future mothers out there! What a special day to celebrate the divine nature of women. It's great to be loved and needed so much by one person. Being the one that Cali wants after she has a bad dream means so much to me!

It's cute to watch Cali with her dolls. She takes such great care of them, reads them stories, feeds them, changes their diapers. It's so cute to watch a future mother at work. This is Cali with "Dolly". What a happy Mommy!

I can't believe that it was two years ago today that I became a mother. Time has just flown by so quickly. We are having a little get together tonight for Cali's birthday. I will be sure to post some pictures of that later.

This what Cali made me in nursery today. I am going to be using this a lot! Thanks baby girl!

New Kids on the Block Concert

As many of you know I went to the New Kids on the Block concert back in November. One of the friends I went with found this video on you tube. Proof of how close we were! I am the one in the middle of the screen wearing the purple sparkly shirt dancing like a maniac.

Summer Plans... Nova Scotia here I come!

So I finally found out about my summer holidays...

So our flights are booked. I am taking Ed and Cali to the homeland the beginning of July for about a week... since that's all the time I have. I plan an pushing as much bagpipes, kilts, blueberries, strawberries, lobster, maple cream and everything else Nova Scotian down their throats as possible. I am seriously counting down the days!

So that leaves the rest of my summer free. Please if you have any suggestions of what else I can fill the days with in Alberta let me know. I don't want to sit this summer out!

We are planning to go to Taber Cornfest though... that will be a weekend to remember!

Riding on a Bike

So Ed had saved up some Air Miles and decided to cash them in for Sport Chek gift cards... then we had to decide what to do with the money... so we thought we would buy a trike for Cali. Then we went into Calgary to check out the selection and there weren't any trikes that appealed to us. So instead we opted to buy Ed a new bike and buy a "Wee Ride" for it.
Well I have to say I think that this was the best decision. The two of them are out right now on the bike making trips through the neighbourhood. Ed was saying that he wanted to get more exercise so I think that this may be the way. Cali doesn't want to stop!
Here is a quick video of the two of them on the bike. The "Wee Ride" is actually a Canadian invention. I read about it in the Reader's Digest years ago. They have come a long way in the meantime. This one has padding and fancy shoulder straps. Ed being the dad that he is thinks that the padding isn't quite enough! I am sure he will think of a way to improve it. Anyway here is the video!
